This is a simple blog to show all the interesting things I have learned about my religion.

I am not an expert and different sects have different views.

The Hindu festival of color is Holi and it was captured here in stunning detail by Variable.

Though everyone in Hiranyakashapu’s community had been under his forceful, demonic influence as he demanded them to abandon the worship of Shri Hari, his own son, Prahalad, remained devoutly devoted to the lotus feet of Shri Hari. Many ill attempts were made by Hiranyakashapu to destroy his pious son, but Prahalad’s unwavering faith in Shri Hari prevented him from any harm.
“Where is your God?!” Hiryanyakashapu’s roaring voice resounded in all directions.
“He is everywhere.” Prahalad answered calmly, confidently.
“Is He in here?!” Hiryanyakashapu frustratingly pointed to a pillar.
“Yes, He is there too.” Prahalad replied peacefully, with a slight smile on his face.
Hiryanyakashpu was overwhelmed with his immense anger and stuck the pillar with his powerful mace.
Prahalad’s faith was so profound that it aided in the fierce manifestation of Shri Narsimha, Who emerged from the pillar and destroyed Hiranyakashapu.
~We are all, in essence, symbolic of the innocent and pure Prahalad. However, the Prahalad in most of us remains dormant. Our souls seek to reunite with God, but the negative forces of the World (symbolic of Hiranyakashapu) undauntedly attempt to distract us from our dharmic path. But when we remain firm in our faith through exercising sincere Love and devotion, we will establish ourselves as mighty and enlightened as Prahalad, who only recognized God everywhere and within every thing.  And when we recognize God as Prahalad did, we will know Happiness.
Holi is a festival of happiness and Love as well as the triumph of good over evil. Holi is also known as a holiday which eliminates the boundaries humans have set amongst themselves: age, gender, caste, etc. Everyone is beautifully and abundantly decorated with colored powder to depict that we are all to be celebrated and Loved, as God is present within us all.
Happy Holi, Beautiful Souls! May your lives remain vibrant and joyous. Jai Shri RadhaKrishna. ♥

Celebration of the Hindu festival Holi, the Festival of Colours, at the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple in Spanish Fork, Utah. By Brian Thomson.

AMAZING. I love Hinduism and Holi. I love any celebration that brings all people together as one beautiful humanity. It is one of my dreams to participate in a celebration like this one day!
